Rutherford County Schools seeking land to build new schools

The Rutherford County Board of Education is now soliciting proposals for land purchases for proposed school sites. They are accepting bids from real estate agents, private property owners, estate agents, and more. The site should consist of approximately 35-125 acres in the areas listed below. The Rutherford County Board of Education will be accepting proposals until 2:00 p.m., February 22, 2018. The following areas of the county are of highest priority:

840 corridor:
This area would be near the interchange at I-840 and Almaville Rd. (Highway 102) on the west side of Rutherford County. Other roads that define the extents of this area are Puckett Rd., Shores Dr., and Franklin Rd. (Highway 96). 100-125 acres for a 3 school complex.

Christiana:
Areas of consideration for Christiana would be North of or bordering Christiana Hoovers Gap Rd., West of Miller Rd., South of Epps Mill Rd., and East of Wayside Rd. 100-125 acres for a 2 or 3 school complex.

North Highway 231:
The general location for a county school campus in the northern section of the county would be North of East Jefferson Pike, West of Dunaway Chapel Rd., South of Holly Grove Rd., and East of or along Lebanon Rd. (Highway 231 N). 35-50 acres for one school

The area's listed above are general areas. The proposals should be marked RFP #18-01 and submitted to Rutherford County School Board, Attn: Lynn Pater, 2240 Southpark Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37128, by 2:00 p.m. on February 22, 2018.
