After raising over one-million dollars to begin, the Captain Jeff Kuss Memorial is well underway in Smyrna.
Work crews in Smyrna have been working hard since the October 18th, 2017, groundbreaking and the site in front of the Lee Victory Recreation Park on Sam Ridley is coming along (see photo).
Jeff Kuss was the Blue Angel pilot that died during a crash June 2nd, 2016, while practicing for the Great Tennessee Air Show at the Smyrna Airport.
A Blue Angel jet will be the centerpiece of the memorial, which is expected to be completed by this summer.
Community members can still help raise the necessary funds for construction. The website captjeffkussusmcmemorial.com has several ways you can donate. We have a link on our website at WGNSRadio.com.
