Murfreesboro Fire Department Holds Community Lunch

Following the city hall and police department Christmas lunches earlier in the week, the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department held their own annual meal at noon Wednesday, at the Patterson Park Community Center.  Many were in attendance, including Police Chief Glenn Chrisman, former State Representative John Hood, as well as County Commissioner Gary Farley, himself a retired Assistant Fire Chief with 27 years of service for the department. The entire Murfreesboro city council was in attendance, and Vice Mayor Chris Bratcher took a moment to explain why this event takes place every year, to thank the firefighters and their families for a job well done, and to honor those who have fallen in the previous year.  And though this was a strictly not-for-profit event, donations, especially now around the holiday season, are always encouraged, and can be dropped off at any of the city’s ten fire stations.
