(MURFREESBORO) Shortly before 9:00 o'clock Saturday (7/20/2019) night, there was a fatal motorcycle vs truck crash in the 2700 block of South Rutherford Boulevard. The roadways were wet and slick as a heavy storm had been in the area for several hours.
Public Information Officer Larry Flowers reports that the man who was driving the motorcycle was taken to the ER at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital and was pronounced deceased.
The female motorcycle passenger was taken to TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna. The driver of the truck was not injured.
NAMES RELEASED: The victim in the fatal motorcycle vs pickup crash has been identified as William Quinn, 26, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Camden, Tennessee. The motorcycle passenger, Colleen Healey, 51, of Camden, was stabilized and later transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. At last check, she was listed in stable condition. The driver of the pickup, Teondre Wells, 24, of Murfreesboro, was not injured.
The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of a GMC Sierra pickup was exiting the Blue Apartments and attempted to turn onto South Rutherford Boulevard when it was struck on the side by the motorcycle.
The crash remains under investigation by Murfreesboro Police Department's Fatal Accident Crash Team (F.A.C.T.).
