Murfreesboro, TN (Rutherford County)--For the third year in a row, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services (RCEMS) sponsored families of special needs children through a partnership with Special Kids and its Cornelius Christmas program.

RCEMS staff members and dispatch employees collected money, fulfilled Christmas wish lists, wrapped the gifts, and delivered them in an ambulance this week to Trinity Presbyterian Church to be distributed to the families.

According to RCEMS Paramedic/Public Relations Coordinator Brent Carter, Special Kids, a local organization specializing in therapy and nursing for children with special needs, had a total of 130 families in need this year. "Through the generosity of our employees and others, Special Kids was able to fulfill those lists one hundred percent," said Carter.

"RCEMS is proud to be involved with this program and hopes to continue partnering with them for years to come," Carter commented. "We love this time of year," he continued, "and one of our favorite things to do is spread that joy to others."
