MGM Tobacco & Beer Market Owner Still Critical but Stable

(MURFREESBORO) Here's an update on 40-year old Malak Ishak, the owner of MGM Tobacco and Beer Market, 2415 Halls Hill Pike. He was shot several times in an armed robbery at 1:34 Monday afternoon, February 10, 2020. Ishak is improving, but still in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Not only did the shooter cause extreme injury to Mr. Ishak, but he also fled in the owner's black 2010 Nissan Rogue, Tennessee license plate 4M7-2B1. The SUV was parked by the store's front door, and surveillance video shows the criminal leaving the scene in the Nissan. The vehicle has not been spotted since that day.

According to the clock on the surveillance camera, the armed robber was in the store for for only 1-minute and 41-seconds.

Murfreesboro Public Information Officer Larry Flowers described the robber as a black male, dressed in a camo jacket, wearing a hat, and a doo rag, is seen on surveillance video walking into the store. After the robbery/shooting, he comes out and leaves in the clerk's vehicle.
