(MURFREESBORO) Governor Bill Lee's new executive order requiring Tennesseans to stay at home for the next two weeks forces all branches of the Rutherford County Public Library System to remain closed through Saturday, April 25, 2020.

Library Director Rita Shacklett said, "We know the library is a valued resource for so many readers and supporters. We want to get back to normal as quickly and safely as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this decision might cause, but we appreciate your understanding and always appreciate your support."

NO Fines

Fines will not accrue on materials due during that time, so there is no need to return them until the libraries reopen. Please make use of our online resources such as OverDrive (Libby) and Hoopla for e-books, e-audios, music, movies and more. If you need to renew your current library card, email Carol Ghattas at cghattas@rclstn.org, and she will update your card as soon as possible. If you don't have a library card, but want to use online resources, you can visit our website at rclstn.org and sign up for an Ecard.

New Order

This new order began at midnight as Thursday changed to Friday, April 3rd.

There are some essential jobs that will continue with the local library system, but for the most part, Governor Lee is asking that everyone stay home and only get out if absolutely necessary.

For this reason, Linebaugh Public Library will stop offering curbside pickup for the next two weeks (Monday, April 6 - Friday, April 17).

Linebaugh Branch Manager Carol Ghattas noted, "We hope to resume the curbside service after that period. Please continue to listen to WGNS, watch the library's website and social media for updates."

Again, in accordance with Governor Lee's new order, all branches of the Rutherford County Library System will remain closed through Saturday, April 25. No returned materials will be accepted at any location during the shutdown period.
