(MURFREESBORO)  A beautiful Tennessee sunset, gentle breeze, delicious food, live music, and social distancing friends set the mood for this family friendly event amid the historic backdrop of a village in the 1800s.  The fun began around 7:00 o'clock Saturday night (7/19/2020) at Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village, 312 South Front Street.

Main Street Executive Director Sarah Callender said, "Thanks to the overwhelming support from community businesses with sponsorships for Taste of Rutherford, we were able to have a successful fundraiser and encourage social distancing during this time."

In addition to enjoying Cannonsburgh, with COVID-19 concerns, patrons were offered the option of ordering take-home boxes in advance. Reports indicate that worked perfectly. You would drive to a designated parking area and text the number posted on a sign in front of your car. Your food was quickly delivered. Rave reviews were also given to the delicious food--as well as to the quantity...more than most could eat!

Cannonsburgh Village was alive with music from the Tennessee Philharmonic Orchestra. Plus, a new addition was a beer garden from the Mid-State Brew Crew.

Everywhere you walked, you could hear the praises about the delicious food. Eighteen downtown restaurants spread-out around Cannonsburgh and showed off their special tastes?

Callender noted, "Main Street was able to raise budgeted funds to help carry-out our mission to promote and enhance historic downtown throughout the year. We were able to give back to the restaurants for participating this year, thanks to our many sponsors."
