Murfreesboro, TN – Supporters of Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity will take to the streets on September 19th for the 12th Annual Hammer Down for Habitat Motorcycle and Car Poker Run to raise money for Habitat’s Front Line Workers Build.

This is an exciting event where 100+ motorcycles and cars start at the Habitat ReStore at 850 Mercury Blvd, in Murfreesboro, and “run” a scenic 100-mile route through Middle Tennessee, ending back in Murfreesboro for lunch and entertainment at Hop Springs Beer Park on John Bragg Highway.

Melissa Cross with Habitat for Humanity told WGNS about the route that motorcycles and cars will take on September 19th...

Proceeds from the event go to the Front Line Workers Build at Habitat’s new Legacy Pointe subdivision in Murfreesboro.

Construction starts in mid-October and Future Homeowner Melody, a home health nurse, will be able to move into her new house in early 2021. Melody has a very compelling and inspiring story of transformation and empowerment from a bad situation growing up around crime, to getting her education and LPN degree. She plans to finish a degree in Forensic Nursing and join the FBI.

Melody has completed 50 hours of Financial Literacy and Homeowner Education to be prepared to sustain her home and mortgage. She will also help build her house and complete 300 hours of sweat equity.
