The Blackman football team has been quarantined for two-weeks after a player tested positive for COVID-19.
"There is a COVID situation affecting Blackman's football team and cheerleading squad," said Rutherford County Schools spokesman James Evans. "A student on each team has been diagnosed with COVID and so most of both teams will be on a two-week quarantine."
That means the football team will not be able to play Oakland on Friday night and it will be a forfeit win for the Patriots. The following week is a bye for the Blaze due to fall break.
This is the third time this season the Patriots had a game canceled. They lost their Week 2 game with Kenwood and Week 4 game at Germantown. They were able to play Stewarts Creek Week 4 since the Red Hawks also had an opening the same week.
