The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) is hosting a drive-thru flu shot event called VA Flu Shot Day for Veterans Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. CT.
Enrolled Veterans can receive a free flu shot at any TVHS campus or clinic. TVHS will also provide a complimentary care kit while supplies last. Free pneumonia vaccines will also be available and can be requested at the event.
“Getting a flu shot has never been easier than it is this year,” said Jennifer Vedral-Baron, TVHS health system director. “Flu shots are the best protective measure to keep Veterans safe and healthy, and we created VA Flu Shot Day to make it simple and convenient to get that protection.”
Veterans who are unable to attend the event can get a flu shot at their scheduled TVHS appointment or visit www.tennesseevalley.va.gov to find a time and location that works best for them.
Veterans who are not yet enrolled in VA care can learn more by calling 1-800-228-4973 extension 67030 or visiting www.tennesseevalley.va.gov/patients/eligibility.asp.
