A former Murfreesboro high school student is making her mark on Mississippi.

Siegel High School Class of 2017 Alumna Shelby Mac Mason was selected by her peers through campus-wide elections and crowned Homecoming Queen at Mississippi State University November 7, 2020. Mason, a senior geosciences/professional meteorology major, is currently the weekend weather meteorologist at WTOK in Meridian, Mississippi.

More Details:

Cameron Cleveland of Jackson and Shelby Mac Mason of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, reign as MSU’s Homecoming King and Queen during an event-filled week Nov. 1-7 in Starkville. Chosen in campus-wide elections, Cleveland is a senior psychology major, and Mason is a senior geosciences/professional meteorology major.

This year’s Mr. and Miss MSU are Alex Jackson and Avery Ray. Jackson is a senior fashion design and merchandising major from Greenville, and Ray is a senior mathematics major from Madison.

The Homecoming Court, including eight class maids, were shown on the jumbotron in a prerecorded video on Nov. 7th during halftime of the MSU vs. Vanderbilt football game at Davis Wade Stadium and on several MSU social media accounts.

If COVID-19 were not an issue, they would have been on the field during halftime at the game.
