The Murfreesboro Police Department is on the search for men and women who want to serve the community in the law enforcement. 

The MPD is now accepting applications for a position entitled, "Emergency Communication Specialist I," which is a dispatcher. Pay starts at $15.92 per hour. The availability for the dispatcher position first opened on February 23rd and applicants have until March 19th to apply through the city's website www.murfreesborotn.gov. Once on the site, click JOBS. Once properly trained and after a show of positive performance, employees will be able to move up to a level two Emergency Communications Specialist, which pays $17.41 per hour.

Hiring previously certified police officers is also an ongoing need. The annual pay for a full-time certified officer in Murfreesboro rings in at nearly $46,000.

The City of Murfreesboro is also in the process of filling a “Certified Firefighter” position. The annual pay is just $300 shy of $40,000.
