Man Facing "Trafficking of Sexual Servitude" Charge in Murfreesboro

A man from Greeneville, Mississippi will soon face the courts in Rutherford County for human trafficking charges.

On September 28, 2020, Gerald Bell was arrested after a warrant was issued by a Murfreesboro Police Detective. The 32-year-old was charged with “Trafficking of Sexual Servitude” and “Promoting Prostitution.”

According to the law, a person commits the offense of trafficking a person for sexual servitude when that person knowingly subjects or maintains another in sexual servitude or knowingly recruits, entices, harbors, transports, provides or obtains by any means another person for the purpose of sexual servitude.

MPD Spokesman Larry Flowers told WGNS NEWS on Thursday (03/25/2021) that the case surrounding Bell was still open and ongoing.

Bell will be arraigned in Circuit Court on Friday, April 9, 2021.
