This Salute to Veterans is a series, which features WWII Sgt. Norman L. Elzeer. Below, you will find all of the different salutes with Sgt. Elzeer.

More about Sgt. Elzeer:

In 2016, Elzeer was one of eight WWII Veterans to receive a special honor from France.

The Sergeant, who was under the 461st Bombardment Group with the 2114th Army Air Force Base, was awarded the National Order of the Legion medal from the Consul General of France. The National Order of the Legion is the highest honor in France.

The medal was awarded to Elzeer and seven other WWII Veterans in a ceremony that highlighted France’s eternal gratitude to those who liberated it from oppression between 1944 and 1945.

The audio in this post was part of an interview by Dave Gober with FNB Mortgage and Dean Higbee of Southbranch Nursery.
