Meal donations are needed to help with the TSSAA Spring Fling event, which is nearing.

The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce says that as a sign of southern hospitality, the Convention and Visitors Bureau will again be providing over 700 meals during the championship week for officials, media and event staff.

The Spring Fling is a one-of-a-kind event that involves high school athletes throughout Tennessee; all of whom visit and often stay the night in our community while participating in various sports.

The Chamber anticipates more than 5,000 athletes and 25,000 spectators to visit Rutherford County at the end of May. This week-long event has an economic impact of $3.5 million dollars on our community.

TSSAA is the only high school athletic organization in the United States to have a seven-sport, Olympic-style spring sport championship tournament for baseball, softball, track and field, team and individual tennis and soccer.

If you are interested in helping the Chamber of Commerce with the Spring Fling, email Dawn Nasoori (dnasoori@rutherfordchamber.org).

The events will take place May 25th through the 28th.
