MTSU closes May 31 for Memorial Day; classes resume June 1

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — MTSU will be closed Monday, May 31, for the 2021 Memorial Day holiday. All offices will be closed and no summer term classes will be held.

The university will reopen and classes — whether in-person, online, hybrid or remote learning format — will resume, Tuesday, June 1.

The James E. Walker Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 29, but closed May 30-31.

Daily campus tours will resume with 9 and 11 a.m. tours on June 1. Please note that there will be only 11 a.m. tours on certain days. For more information, email tours@mtsu.edu or call 615-898-5670. For more admissions information, email admissions@mtsu.edu or call 615-898-2233.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday for honoring and mourning U.S. military personnel who have died in the line of duty and is observed annually on the last Monday of May.
