Mike Lorance Passes Away

Mike Lorance has passed away. The Murfreesboro man was best known as the first blind professional bass fisherman in the country and wrote newspaper columns for decades locally.

Back in 2012, Lorance shared his story on the Truman Jones Show. After being discharged from military service because of his failing eye sight, he talked about the challenges he faced:

He was on the Truman Show to talk about the book "Out of the Darkness into the Light: A Blind Fisherman's Story." Truman, who knew Lorance for many years, shared his thoughts on the local legend nine years ago:
