Rutherford County High Schools try to Educate Students about Student Debt when Discussing Career Choices

Jul 19, 2021 at 04:07 pm by WGNS

Last school year, U.S. News & World Report listed the top public schools across the country and one local school was in the top 20.

Central Magnet School came in at number 13 on the list of top schools in the U.S. for 2020.

Specifically in Rutherford County, Central is ranked as the best high school followed by Blackman High at number two and Siegel High in the number three position. High marks for schools equal more students going to college, which could equal more debt to pay for college.

County Schools Director Bill Spurlock said that career choices and student debt from college are both issues that local schools not only acknowledge, but try to educate students on...

Spurlock made the statement when speaking before the Murfreesboro Rotary Club this past week.
