Community Says "THANK YOU" Lee Moss

(MURFREESBORO)  The community said "THANK YOU" to local banker and sports referee Lee Moss Monday (8/16/2021) evening with a retirement party at the Fountains at Greenway. The event was sponsored by FirstBank and celebrated his 48-years in banking.

Prior to last year's merger between FirstBank and Franklin Synergy Bank, Moss served as president of Synergy. When the two financial firms merged in August, 2020, Moss was named the Rutherford County chairman of FirstBank. 

Lee was honored with the 2004 Jennings A. Jones Champion of Free Enterprise from MTSU’s School of Business, 2006 Chamber Business Person of the Year, and the YMCA’s 2012 Humanitarian of the Year.

In 2019 Lee was named the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Business Legend of the Year

He also served as chairman of the Tennessee Bankers Association, St. Thomas Health Services, Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, and United Way. 

Moss earned his bachelors in banking degree from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee where he later was president of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He also earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University.

He officiated TSSAA basketball in Middle Tennessee for 25-years, including twice at the state tournaments here in Murfreesboro.

Lee was a 1996 Leadership Rutherford grad along with the Middle Tennessee counterpart in 2011.

Moss and his wife Susan are active members of First United Methodist Church.
