(MURFREESBORO) Shortly before noon on Wednesday (9/1/2021) as passenger on the city's Rover Bus was having a medical issue at the downtown City Transportation Hub.
A spokesperson told NewsRadio WGNS that the bus rider was believed to have been having seizures. Paramedics from Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services treated the man at the bus transfer station at the intersection of N. Walnut and W. Burton Streets. He was then transported to the Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center.
The city's buses are known to go the extra mile for passengers, and these actions certainly proved that.
By the way, Mayor McFarland said on an earlier WGNS' radio broadcast that a new fleet buses will replace the old ones around the first of the year. Instead of the bright green bus with the dog on the side--the new buses will be blue and white and boldly note MURFREESBORO TRANSIT.
