WGNS has more on the South Church Street accident that occurred on Thursday morning around 6:15. Murfreesboro Police Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told us that fire and police were dispatched to the crash involving a Honda Accord that was pulling out of Uncle Sandy’s Truck Stop on S. Church St. and hit a Kawaskaki Scooter. The scooter went airborne when struck by the Honda.
Flowers told WGNS that the male scooter rider was transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center to be treated for injuries, including leg injuries.
Police confirmed the scooter rider was wearing a helmet, but the full extent of his injures are not known.
WGNS confirmed with police that the driver of the car (Honda Accord) was issued a citation for failure to yield.
