Vandals Hit Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna, TN

The Smyrna Police Department has released a statement in regards to vandals recently striking the Mapleview Cemetery on South Lowry Street…

“We understand the concern surrounding the vandalism and those of you concerned about whether or not your loved one's marker was damaged. Please know that we have notified all families impacted by this. Thank you for your support, for your concern, and for sharing any information you may have to assist in locating the individual(s) responsible.”

The Smyrna Police Department is requesting the public's assistance regarding the vandalism at the Mapleview Cemetery.

Evidently, sometime between September 5th and 6th, grave markers at the Cemetery were damaged. Police ask that anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area of the cemetery or who may have any information - to contact SPD Sgt. Elstran at 615-267-5451 or email clete.elstran@townofsmyrna.org.

At this point, no arrests have been made.
