The District Attorney's Office hit the airwaves with court news, updates on court cases, law enforcement investigations and more.

During today's program, retired Assistant District Attorney J. Paul Newman recounts a gruesome murder that unfolded in 2015. Mr. Newman elaborated on the detective work that went into the Murfreesboro case that left an 86-year-old woman who lived at the Dusan Apartments dead. 

The case took detectives to Bedford County,  where the body of Louis Jean Espy was located. Mr. Newman then discussed the shocking series of events that were uncovered by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and the arrest of the subject who killed his neighbor Louis Jean Espy. 

The show further outlined how the man accused of killing Miss Espy, William Russell Brace moved to Murfreesboro in 2013 and once here, worked at various vape shops and more.

During the last segment of the show, retired District Attorney Bill Whitesell talked about laws in Tennessee and went over how different court proceedings, convictions and sentencing takes place. Mr. Whitesell further noted that the courts in Rutherford County always work to make sure defendants know and understand their conviction.
