The search for a man who was entered as missing under the Tennessee Silver Alert program has sadly ended. Donald Alvarez, who was last known to be in the Coffee County area, evidently ran his car off of I-24 and into a creek.

Two days before the accident, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued the “Silver Alert” for Alvarez on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.  On Thursday, January 20th, a Tennessee Highway Patrol helicopter traveling over Coffee County spotted the car belonging to Alvarez in Bradley Creek, next to I-24.

Authorities arrived on the scene where they found the vehicle belonging to the 80-year-old man. The sedan was on its roof and in the creek. According to Coffee County Sheriff Chad Partin, once the vehicle was removed from the creek,  Alvarez’s body was discovered inside. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
