MTSU SPORTS NEWS- Middle Tennessee's Josh Jefferson and Teafale Lenard, Jr. swept this week's Conference USA weekly awards in men's basketball. Jefferson was named C-USA Player of the Week, while Lenard earned Freshman of the Week honors. This is the first time MT has ever swept the C-USA men's basketball weekly awards.
Jefferson led the Blue Raiders with 59 points on the week, including a game-high 30 points in Sunday's win over Charlotte. Middle Tennessee went 3-0 behind Jefferson's 19.7 points per game. The graduate transfer from New Albany, Ind., shot 19-for-35 (.543) from the floor, 9-for-17 (.529) from 3-point range and 12-for-13 (.923) from the free throw line on the week. He becomes the first Blue Raider to earn C-USA Player of the Week honors since Nick King on Feb. 12, 2018.

Lenard won his third Freshman of the Week accolades after scoring 15 points to go along with 12 rebounds and three blocks in 59 minutes on the week. The Snyder, Texas, native provided his usual highlight reel dunks to help his team go undefeated in three home games this week. Lenard, already the first Blue Raider to ever win multiple C-USA Freshman of the Year awards, gives MT its most-ever C-USA Freshman of the Year awards in a single season.
