As heard in recent news stories, the MTSU Aerospace programs is continuing their pattern of growth. Murfreesboro Mayor Shane McFarland noted...

The Mayor said that MTSU didn't want to place a cap on their enrollment in the aerospace program, which left them with only one option - - move...

McFarland suggested that once the move is made, it will expand the possibility for new business at the Murfreesboro Airport, which is to a big extent locked into place...

Over the past 5-years, the program for pilots at MTSU has grown from about 400-students to almost 1,000 students today.

MTSU has the opportunity to utilize about 25-acres near Shelbyville Municipal Airport on Highway 231 South, which is only 21-miles away from their campus. Needless to say, this would not only give MTSU more space to grow their flight training program, it would also give a breath of new growth to Shelbyville. It also allows for more commercial growth at the Murfreesboro Airport.
