MURFREESBORO – The City of Murfreesboro and Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE) continue to examine the idea of a land swap. The trade would consist of the electric provider swapping their land on Veterans Parkway for the City of Murfreesboro’s land next to the I-840 / Veterans Parkway interchange.

The electric provider seems optimistic about the idea, according to Amy Byers with MTE…

The swap would allow for Middle Tennessee Electric to build a new headquarter office next to I-840 and the city could use the utility providers land along Veterans Parkway to build a school and even a park.

Murfreesboro Parks Director Nate Williams stated…

Again, the land swap is still under review of both Middle Tennessee Electric and the City of Murfreesboro.
