Home on Cutoff Road in Walter Hill Destroyed by Fire on Tuesday

Around 1:30 on Tuesday morning, Rutherford County Fire & Rescue responded to Cutoff Road in the Walter Hill community after receiving reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire throughout the residence.

The occupants of the home were alerted by working smoke alarms and were able to exit the home safely. The fire was extinguished; however, it unfortunately appears the home will be a total loss.

The local chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the residents. Rutherford County EMS, the Sheriff's Office, the Lascassas Volunteer Fire Department and the Almalville Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the scene.

The fire remains under routine investigation by the Rutherford County Fire & Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office.
