MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — TrustPoint Hospital, one of middle Tennessee’s leading behavioral health treatment centers, is expanding its levels of care with a new intensive outpatient program specifically for the adolescent population.
The intensive outpatient program, often referred to as an IOP, is now open. An IOP is a level of care in which adolescents can receive intensive group therapy sessions on an outpatient basis. Program sessions are offered three days per week, for three hours each session.
“We are excited about our expansion of outpatient services for the adolescents in our community. We are embarking on our 10th year in operation and it’s an honor and privilege to expand the treatment options for our youth,” said Beth Goodner, Chief Executive Officer at TrustPoint Hospital. “Intensive Outpatient Programming allows for intensive group therapy while simultaneously continuing to attend school and be at home during the evening.”
TrustPoint Hospital’s intensive outpatient program serves children and adolescents ages 10-17 whose lives have been disrupted by mental health concerns such as an anxiety disorder, depression, oppositional defiant disorder, or an adjustment disorder. Each child follows a treatment plan that is personalized specifically for them after a careful assessment of their medical history, presenting symptoms, and treatment goals. TrustPoint’s expert team ensures that every child receives focused, age-appropriate care that sets the groundwork for lasting healing.
Patients can enter the IOP directly, or after stepping down from a higher level of care. Most patients take part in this program for four to six weeks, depending on their progress and needs. TrustPoint’s clinicians evaluate every child individually to determine the best time for them to transition to the next step in their healing process.
“It takes a village to raise a child. I am more than honored that we get to be members of the village that will assist in developing a foundation that will go with them throughout their lives,” said Mai Ferrell, Director of Outpatient Services at TrustPoint Hospital.
In addition to inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder services for adults, seniors, and adolescents, TrustPoint Hospital offers a variety of medical services, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy.
