(Rutherford County, Tenn.) The annual Walk to End Alzheimer's is nearing, but before the actual walk occurs, a special kick-off celebration and sign-up event will be held this coming Saturday at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro (Scroll down for our full 7-min. interview).
Mike Gann, who has worked at the Stones River Manor for almost 30-years, knows the impact of Alzheimer’s and Dementia all too well. Gann talked to WGNS about seeing a loved one battle Alzheimer’s… The Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be in October, but the kick-off for the walk to sign up or learn how you can help will be this Saturday at Old Fort Park (9:30 to 11:30AM).
One of the biggest changes seen in those with Alzheimer’s, is a change in personality. Gann talked about how that struggle can sometimes startle family, but again – love them through it… During the Walk to End Alzheimer’s kick-off this Saturday, you will be able to register for the walk in October, win prizes and learn more about local resources available to loved ones and family members – so that you don’t battle the struggles of this life impacting disease alone.
Again, the kick-off celebration for the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Murfreesboro will be this Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Old Fort Park (1025 Old Fort Parkway Murfreesboro, TN 37130). The event will be from 9:30 to 11:30AM.
The actual Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held on October 22nd at Gateway Island in Murfreesboro, which is behind Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (1272 Garrison Dr, Murfreesboro, TN 37129) and The Fountains.
The annual walk is held to raise funds to further research a cure to end Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Research is being conducted locally and nationwide (Scroll down for our full 7-min. interview).
