(MURFREESBORO) The Center for the Art's Executive Director Patience Long announced that she has accepted a new position and is leaving the Center for the Arts. Her last day at the Center for the Arts is October 7, 2022. In fact, on September 1, 2022, she will have been with the local theatre group for 7-years.
In talking with Patience, NewsRadio WGNS asked what accomplishment was she the proudest? Without a pause, she made it clear that "the team effort of creating a thriving revenue development program that places the Center in a positive position."
The amazing thing is that the pandemic challenged the existence of most non-profits, but Long continued to push and inspire, and the Center for the Arts is back on a successful path.
Long said, "I will continue to live in Murfreesboro and help the Center's board in any way that they wish".
Patience' new position is the executive director of the Tennessee Association of Optometric Physicians in Nashville.
Denise Parton and Mark Williams noted, "The Center for the Arts is committed to continue the growth into the future. While we are saddened to see her go, we are proud of Patience's accomplishments and excited for this next chapter of her career. We thank her for her many years of service to the Center for the Arts and our community."
