(MURFREESBORO)  At 10:35AM Saturday morning (10/1/2022) Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue was called to Champy's Restaurant in front of Big Lots at 1290 N. W. Broad Street. They quickly evacuated several businesses after construction workers severed a gas line in the parking lot beside the restaurant.

Fire-Rescue personnel medically monitored several restaurant employees and called for Rutherford County EMS. All patients were released on scene.

TN Golf Station was temporarily evacuated due to gas levels found inside. Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue ventilated the building after ATMOS Energy shut the gas line off.
The businesses re-opened once it was deemed that the facilities were safe.

Special thanks to Rescue 4, Ladder 1, Rescue 11, Safety 1, Safety 2, and Battalion Chief 2 who responded to this emergency.
