(MURFREESBORO)  On Friday night (10/7/2022) Uncle Dave Macon Days returned to its roots of "no admission fee", just like it was when Jessie Messick got it started in front of the courthouse in 1978.  This year's venue was the beautiful Fountains on Medical Center Parkway.

The show began in a true Uncle Dave' Americana form with the traditional singing of our National Anthem followed by a prayer.

Tennessee Philharmonic's CEO Jane McNulty and her husband Kevin served as the emcees for the two-day musical extravaganza.

On Friday the crowd enjoyed temps around 60 and soaked-in musical favorites from the Glade City Rounders, Jake Leg Stompers, and Uncle Shuffelo and His Haint Hollow Hootenanny.

Gloria Christy noted that Friday night was a birthday celebration for Uncle Dave who celebrated # 152.

Syrnacuse, NY bluegrass public radio announcer Bill Knowlton quipped, "He didn't look a day over a hundred."

NewsRadio WGNS asked what made Uncle Dave so unique . . .

On Saturday (10/8/2022) the shows resumed at 1:00PM and featured The Will MacLean Band, Caleb Christopher Edwards, Jake Leg Stompers and The Cleverlys. Plus, the admission continues to be FREE!
