MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Middle Tennessee State University Board of Trustees will hold its quarterly meeting on Tuesday, December 13th.

The meeting is open to the public and begins at 1 p.m. in the Miller Education Center, Second Floor Meeting Room, 503 E. Bell St. For parking details, go to http://www.mtsu.edu/maps/.

The agenda includes reports from board committees; approval of items including minutes, degrees under consideration, 2022-23 October revised budget, appointment of chair of excellence and expedited tenure; amendment to facilities master plan; and information including reports from the president and board secretary.

Some highlights to the 2022 school year will likely be discussed at the upcoming meeting. As many realize, the Murfreesboro based university continues to expand and change as the job market grows and the diversity of job skills needed to enter the workforce thicken. The concrete industry is one of many career categories that has seen changes.

This past October, MTSU introduced the community to their brand-new School of Concrete and ConstructionManagement building, which cost approximately $40.1-million. The new 54,000-square-foot facility will be an integrated and experiential learning laboratory for 135 current Concrete Industry Management majors and 200 Commercial Construction Management students, and major change from their approximately 9,000 square feet of space in the Voorhies Engineering Technology building. Students graduating from the program average $60,000-plus in starting salary and have an almost 100% placement rate, program officials said.
