(MURFREESBORO) A second person has died as a result of the 5:00 o'clock Tuesday (11/3/2023) evening two-vehicle crash. It happened at the entrance to Cross Creek of Murfreesboro Apartments, 490 Fortress Blvd.
According to the Murfreesboro Police' FACT Team (Fatal Accident Crash Team) a disabled 68-year-old passenger in a 2019 Dodge Caravan was flown to TriStar Skyline for treatment, but he died from his injuries a short time later. In addition, the 37-year-old male driver of the 2011 GMC Sierra was flown to Vanderbilt Hospital where he also passed from his injuries. Both victims’ names are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The preliminary investigation shows the driver of the Dodge Caravan, a 62-year-old female, was traveling southbound on Fortress. According to investigators, she failed to maintain the lane of travel, crossing over into the northbound lane and colliding with the GMC Sierra. The driver is listed in stable condition. Charges against the driver could be pending, according to FACT investigators.
