Smyrna, TN - A truck fire shut-down traffic in Smyrna on Interstate 24 West near the Sam Ridley Parkway overpass on Monday. The Smyrna Fire Department responded to the call to find what appeared to be a semi-truck hauling a large dumpster that was fully engulfed in flames. The fire resulted in the temporary shutdown of the interstate headed out of Smyrna and going towards Nashville. Fire crews report that debris from the burn also started a grass fire. Thankfully, no injuries reported. The cause of the blaze has not been released at this point, but the blaze may have started in the engine compartment of the big rig.
