UPDATE: Murfreesboro City and Rutherford County Schools CLOSED on Thursday, February 16, 2023 Due to Weather Threats

(Rutherford County, TN) The Rutherford County Schools have closed all county operated schools for Thursday, February 16th, due to weather. Schools Director Dr. Jimmy Sullivan stated... A decision about afterschool / evening extracurricular activities will be announced by noon Thursday.

In the City of Murfreesboro - ALL Murfreesboro City Schools will BE CLOSED. According to City Schools Communications Director Lisa Trail, "We have watched the weather overnight to help make the best call for our students and staff. Based on the timing of the storm cells in relation to our school bell and bus times, MCS will be closed today."

"This decision is being made based on the latest details that we have available. We were hoping the storm timing would change."
 
"ESP will be open from 6 am-6 pm at the five inclement weather sites. Please be sure to pack meals and snacks for children attending ESP."

"Twelve month employees should report to work."

MOTLOW STATE: Due to weather threats, Motlow State is observing remote operations 2.16.2023. Students should check their email and D2L for further directions from their instructors.
