Warrant Served Leads to Multiple Police Showing Up on Atlas St.

Murfreesboro, TN - Few details have been released at this point, but from what area residents have told WGNS News, a section of Atlas Street at Minerva Drive in Murfreesboro had to be shutdown on Tuesday around mid-morning. The shut down came as Murfreesboro Police were serving a search warrant. Atlas Street is near Middle Tennessee Boulevard and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

The MPD Special Investigations Section executed the search warrant at a home in the 1700 block of Atlas Street with assistance from the Special Operations Unit (SOU). Police went into the on on Tuesday, March 7th around 9:45 in the morning. By 11AM, police were still on the scene.

No other details from the MPD are available at this time. The case, although police have not said what that case may involve, is under investigation, according to the MPD. Detectives have not released the name of the subject at the home or what the warrant was for.

Just a couple of days prior to police serving the warrant at a residence on Atlas Street, an MPD officer responded to a call at a different address on the same road in regards to a suspicious and/or abandoned vehicle. That incident was reported on Sunday, March 5th. In that case, a pickup truck was parked on the roadway for several days, but there was no one inside or around the truck. Nothing became of that incident, but neighbors were concerned and some thought the two situations - - one involving the abandoned truck on the 5th and the second being the warrant that was served on Tuesday, were tied together. However, the two situations appear to be unrelated.
