Murfreesboro Biker Killed In Florida Crash

(FLAGLER COUNTY, FLORIDA) There were only two-days remaining in Daytona’s “82nd Annual BIKE WEEK” when a 68-year-old Murfreesboro motorcyclist was killed around 2:00 o’clock this past Friday afternoon (3/10/2023) at the busy intersection of highway 100 and Bulldog Drive in Flagler County, Florida.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an SUV driven by an 18-year-old failed to yield the right of way and reportedly attempted to make a turn when he crossed in front the path of a Murfreesboro man’s Harley-Davidson.

People immediately rushed to the critically injured motorcyclist who was wearing his helmet. The Murfreesboro resident was airlifted to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach where he died.

The 18-year-old in the SUV was not injured. Authorities indicate that he was wearing the safety restraint.

The 82-year-old BIKE WEEK is a legendary event that is now held at locations around the Daytona International Speedway. This year the 10-day festival of bike shows, vendor sales, music and street parties were March 3 -12, 2023.
