Convicted murderer David Kyle Gilley has lost his right for an appeal... again. Gilley is the man accused of killing MTSU student Laura Salmon in 1984. You may recall in 2009, he lost his final appeal after the Tennessee Supreme Court told him that his case would not be heard again. This month, it was a repeat of history. The Tennessee Supreme Courts have once again denied Gilley’s application of appeal.

Gilley was about 18-years old when he dated Salmon and later killed her in ‘84. 17-Years after the murder, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Detectives tracked him down to a small city in Florida where he was arrested and officially charged with her murder. In 2006 he was convicted of first degree murder in the Circuit Court Room of Judge Don Ash. He received a life sentence that he has tried unsuccessfully to appeal on numerous occasions.

Gilley will be eligible for parole in  2042.
