MURFREESBORO, TENN – In Murfreesboro, MPD Detectives need help identifying a person of interest in what police are calling “A retail fraud case.”
The incident occurred on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Police were notified by the Target store that an unidentified woman entered the Old Fort Parkway retailer and selected the merchandise that she had picked out. Then, the subject allegedly headed to the cashier where detectives report she attempted to fraudulently return the item. Luck was not on the subjects’ side, as the return was denied.
After the Target employee refused to give the customer a refund for the cookware, which is believed to cost over $200, the unknown woman headed towards the exit. The unidentified woman, with a 10-piece box of stainless steel cookware in hand, jumped into a dark-colored Chevy Equinox and fled the area in the small SUV. So far, she has not been identified.
