Nearby Sheriff’s Office Looking for Culprits Accused of Leaving Black Marks All Over Church Parking Lot

We’ve all seen it or have seen the aftermath of it... teens doing donuts in parking lots or the burnt tire marks left behind from drivers doing donuts in parking lots. But, what happens if you’re caught doing donuts in a parking lot? Do businesses ever report the black marks left behind by joyriders?

One nearby community is upset over someone leaving burnt rubber behind and spoke to law enforcement about the incident.

Down the street from Woodbury in nearby Warren County, at least two vehicles were caught on camera leaving a trail of burnt black rubber. Perhaps the location of where the marks were left is what is making some residents more irritated than usual. The incident occurred in front of the Cumberland Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. To make matters more troubling, the church recently re-surfaced the parking lot with brand new white stripes for parking spaces and more.

According to a report filed with the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, the incident was reported on June 4, 2023. Unbeknown to the two enthusiastic drivers, the church has security cameras that captured the incident on video (see picture above this article).

After reviewing video footage, Deputy Jefferson confirmed the incident occurred on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at approximately 8:59 a.m. The approximate amount of damage to the church parking lot was estimated to be $5,000.

Warren County Investigator Calvin Hammond is asking for help in identifying the driver and/or owners of these vehicles. If you have any information, please contact Investigator Hammond at (931) 473-8032, or through the non-emergency number at (931) 668-7000.
