JOPLIN, MO - Thursday morning (6/29/2023) came early for the Murfreesboro team in The Great Race faced hot weather as they left Joplin, Missouri on the famous Route 66. They had a 41-second day, which put the Central Magnet School team in first place for the X-Cup for that day. Day 5 included Jeremy driving with Annie Jane as his Navigator.

In addition to the Stones River AACA Team sitting in 1st place for the XCup Division, it is also 41st overall! Day 5 was super hot and exhausting, but the Murfreesboro team persevered and finished!
Thursday's jaunt (6/29/2023) takes them to Emporia, KS for lunch, and overnight in Wichita, KS. The teams passed the half-way point in the race.
More on thother Murfreesboro team in The Great Race: Kirk Bugg and his son Travis drove car #49 in the race. The vehicle was a 1961 Nash Metropolitan convertible, which placed 20th for Saturday holding a 23-second score. That put the Bugg's in 33rd place overall among the 120+ cars that remained in the run. The Nash Rambler was in the #14 position under the Sportsman's Class with 1-minute and 14-seconds.
