Celebrate the Middle Tennessee High School Students Beginning Healthcare Careers with Ascension Saint Thomas

Ascension Saint Thomas is proud to recognize the 2023-2024 class of Ascension Saint Thomas Work-Based Learning, a year-long program that prepares students from across Middle Tennessee for exciting careers in healthcare.  

30 high school seniors from Blackman High School, Cane Ridge High School, Franklin High School, Green Hill High School, Hickman County High School, Independence High School, John Overton High School, La Vergne High School, Maplewood High School, Mcgavock High School, Pearl-Cohn High School, Riverdale High School, Rockvale High School, Smyrna High School, and Wilson Central High School began employment at healthcare facilities this month. Participating students earn class credit and are paid hourly as they work 10 or more hours per week at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown or West campuses in Nashville, Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, or one of the many Ascension Medical Group Saint Thomas sites of care across Middle Tennessee.  

Ascension Saint Thomas celebrates the following students as members of this year's cohort of the Work-Based Learning Program: Ahsiry Dominguez, Aliera Leezy, Anahi Tellez Garcia, Analayne Lackey, Andrew Kaldas, Audrey Smith, Ava Kissner, Brenda Zamora, Caden Bridges, Carlee Roaden, Daveigh Cochran, Delina Mehari, Divid Abdelshahid, Dorsa Eghterafi, Emerson Kennedy, Emery Dotson, Jalynn Carter, Kennedy Mann, Marta Ajpacaja, Matthew Girgis, Nisani Taylor, Payden Daniels, Jomana Rashad, Ripzy Mendez, Saron Jemal, Sydnee Minerd, Taiya Lacy, Vincent Guo, Youssef Habib, and Zainab Juma.  

Several members of the inaugural 2022-2023 cohort remain employees of Ascension Saint Thomas today: Aeh Htoo, A'siah Fuqua,  A'Yana Thompson, Lashonty Beal, Mariposa Cardenas, and Triniti Mills.
