DEKALB COUNTY, TN - In nearby Smithville, a DeKalb County man has been indicted on child sex crime charges dealing with rape. The subject was originally arrested on January 6, but indicted after details from an investigation surrounding the case were presented to the July DeKalb County Grand Jury.
On Monday, the DeKalb County Grand Jury returned indictments against 41-year-old George Daniel Evans for three counts of rape, four counts of sexual battery, two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child, and two counts of incest.
According to the indictment, Evans allegedly had sexual contact with two children under the age of 14 on several occasions from October of 2015 to October of 2021. At the time of the first offense, the children were ages 7 and 8. Keep in mind, the accusations cover a period of 6-years.
