Envelope Containing Cash Accidently Left Behind by a Customer

MURFREESBORO, TN – The Murfreesboro Criminal Investigations Division is working on a theft case involving an envelope that contained about $400 in cash. Apparently, a customer accidently left the envelope on the counter upon check out at the University Market. Another customer is believed to have seen the envelope as an opportunity and reportedly grabbed the envelope and left.

The University Market is on Middle Tennessee Boulevard and the incident was reported on July 17. A man who was captured on a surveillance camera inside the store is wanted for questioning, according to the MPD. Public Information Officer Larry Flowers told WGNS in an email, “Detectives are trying to identify a person of interest who they feel may have information or knowledge regarding the theft.”
