Smyrna, TN - A serious injury accident occured on Monday morning in Smyrna. The accident occurred just before the 11:00 hour in the area known as the "Depot District." The crash was near the intersection of Front Street and Washington Street.
Smyrna Public Information Officer Heather Kent said, "The SPD (Smyrna Police Department) and SFD (Smyrna Fire Department) are working in conjunction with assisting CSX. This is a joint investigation with CSX." Authorities were still on the scene as of 2:15, Monday afternoon. Kent further stated, "I can confirm one fatality. Additionally, Washington Street will remain closed through Tuesday mid-morning."
