(MURFREESBORO)  Historic Murfreesboro comes alive at 5:30PM Friday night (12/1/2023) with the lighting of the county Christmas tree on the east side of the Rutherford County Courthouse. Main Street organizes this event, featuring entertainment, caroling, the lighting of the tree, and a visit from a very special bearded gentleman.

Main Street Executive Director Sarah Callender said, "Bring your family downtown for dinner, view the live nativity, shop in unique stores, enjoy an hour-long program full of choir music, dancing, acting, and Santa. Free activities for children, carriage rides, and pictures with Santa run from 5:30-8:30pm. Thanks to Middle Tennessee Electric for being the "presenting sponsor."

Come early and give yourself time to enjoy dinner along with doing some Christmas shopping from local family businesses.

For more information, contact Main Street Murfreesboro at 615-895-1887.
