DeKalb County, TN - In a collaborative effort, special agents from the Drug Investigation Division of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department have successfully indicted a Smithville man in connection to the drug-related death of William Wayne Graham earlier this year. The joint investigation was initiated on February 9th, following the discovery of Graham's lifeless body at a residence on Bright Hill Road.

The subsequent inquiry determined that Graham's cause of death was acute combined drug toxicity, involving ethanol, alprazolam, cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. Investigators meticulously traced the supply chain of these substances, ultimately identifying Scott Alan Ferrell as the individual who provided the cocaine leading to Graham's tragic demise.

On November 27th, the DeKalb County Grand Jury issued indictments against Ferrell, charging him with one count of Second Degree Murder, one count of Sale of Schedule II Narcotic, and one count of Delivery of Schedule II Narcotic. Ferrell was promptly arrested and booked into the DeKalb County Jail, where he awaits legal proceedings on a $500,000 bond. This joint operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to hold individuals accountable for their role in drug-related fatalities within the community.
